Web Mapping

Web Mapping in Kenya — Geo-Tracts Land Surveyors
Overview

Web Mapping by Registered Surveyors

From the layout of a single building plot to the full alignment of a 200km road or fibre route, engineering surveys translate design drawings into accurate marks on the ground — and existing ground conditions back into design drawings.

Geo-Tracts has supported civil engineers, contractors, telecoms operators and utility companies on projects throughout Kenya. We work as the silent specialists behind the build: we set the lines, the levels and the controls that the rest of the construction depends on.

Project types we support

Road alignment & route surveys, water-pipe and sewer corridor surveys, electricity transmission and distribution line surveys, fibre-optic route surveys, building setting-out, levels and grading checks, as-built surveys for handover, and volumetric/earthworks surveys for material take-off.

How accurate is "engineering accuracy"?

Our setting-out work is delivered to millimetre precision using calibrated robotic total stations referenced to a primary control network. For longer linear projects we densify the control network with GNSS observations tied to the national grid (Arc 1960 / UTM 37S), so contractors anywhere along the alignment can join in without losing accuracy.

What deliverables do you receive?

Coordinated control points (with concrete pillars where required), CAD drawings (DWG), PDF strip plans, longitudinal sections and cross-sections at the intervals you specify, and earthworks volumes if requested. Everything is signed off by a registered surveyor.

What you get

  • Route surveys for roads, pipelines, fibre cables & power lines
  • Setting out of buildings, foundations & infrastructure
  • As-built surveys and verification at handover
  • Earthworks volume calculations & cut/fill analysis
  • Tied to national grid (Arc 1960 / UTM 37S) for inter-team consistency
  • CAD-ready outputs (DWG, DXF) plus signed PDF plans

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — we have completed engineering surveys in over 40 counties. Mobilisation costs depend on distance and crew size and are quoted upfront.

Absolutely. We tie our work into the existing control network or, if the controls are unreliable, re-establish them and provide a transformation report to bridge old and new.

For many engineering tasks (especially earthworks volumes and corridor mapping) drone photogrammetry is faster and just as accurate. We will recommend it where it makes financial and technical sense.
